november 2003
13 Faces wrapped up their tour with Mushroomhead and God Forbid last week and by all accounts the tour was more successful than any of us could have possibly imagined. 13 Faces was reaching 800 to 1400 new fans every night and the reaction was amazing. Massive pits every single night, tons of merch sales, lots of new fans. Phone calls from pretty much every metal label on the planet. And the really great news is, it looks like 13 Faces may be back on the road as early as next month. In the meantime, 13 Faces will be in Cleveland this Saturday, November 15, headlining a show at Peabody's. We'll also be filming this show for some labels who have asked for video of a recent live performance and we may also have a label or two in attendance.
Leo will be saturating the St. Louis and Chicago area over the next week, performing two nights in St. Louis, followed by three nights in Chicago. Check the tour dates section for more info. We've been shopping Leo to major labels over the past couple months and the feedback we are receiving is very encouraging. Leo is also busy recording their debut CD, which should be ready for an early spring release.
Extra special thanks to everyone in the Mushroomhead camp for giving 13 Faces a great opportunity to prove themselves on a nightly basis. And even more thanks for making sure that the band was taken care of at every stop along the way. Honestly, the guys in Mushroomhead and their staff went above and beyond to make sure that 13 Faces was well taken care of in every city.
13 Faces CDs are now available at all Newbury Comics locations (Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island). Newbury Comics is one of the premier indie record chains on the east coast, and we're very excited to have established a business relationship with them.
We're considering making the 13 Faces video for the song "These Bloody Hands" available for sale, cheap, either on VHS or DVD format. And we'll keep you posted as soon as we know if/when the video will premier on MTV, Fuse, Much Music, MTV2, etc.

The following review is from this week's issue of Scene Magazine:
"Two things distinguish 13 Faces from the internationally acclaimed metal-crossover bands like it: The Cleveland quartet hasn't signed paperwork attaching it to a big label's PR machine (yet). And 13 Faces is better than most of those who have. The band's full-length debut, These Bloody Hands, pulses with all the bloodletting power of the high-body-count video games the band plays when not designing the most aggressive hardcore it can imagine. The Faces' brute power and technical proficiency unfold as a steady assault of scabrous bass, boundless grind riffs, and diesel-powered drumming. Rob Runt's deep roars arrive in three-minute bursts, his range hovering tolerably between the vocal stylings of Cookie Monster and Slipknot's Corey Taylor. Surprisingly dense with hooks, the songs tend toward pit-ready revelations of rage, in tunes like the title track, "Everything Hates," and "Waiting for Death." 13 Faces is Cleveland's answer to Hatebreed; but even if it had the backing to land on Ozzfest, it'd be too heavy to fit in."
If you missed 13 Faces on 92.3 Xtreme Radio last Sunday, you can still hear them tonight on Bill Peter's "Metal on Metal" program on WJCU, 88.7 fm, Cleveland, from 6:30 - 9:30pm. The band will be doing an interview, playing tracks from the new CD and there may even be a few giveaways.
